Levent Uniform

They were main crew of the ‘çektiri’ class ships in Ottoman. At first, they were collected from Anatolian cities but as the Ottoman maritime actions  were widened, they were collected as combat soldiers from Aegean and east Mediterranean flag officers. Levends were used as cavalry in land battles while they were used as gunman in naval battles. They wear hats called as ‘Barata’, red vest, long sleeved shirt, blue salwar and yellow belt.
