HÜSNÜ TENGÜZ “A LIFE DEVOTED TO ART”

Hüseyin Hüsnü Tengüz, one of the military painters, was born in Cibali, Istanbul on 30 January 1876. He was known as “Katip (Clerk) Hüsnü” or “Naval Officer Hüsnü” among other painters. Hüsnü Tengüz was a versatile, creative and productive painter who began his painting career when he was too young and continued to paint until the last years of his life.

In the exhibition called “A Life Devoted to Art”, Hüsnü Tengüz’s paintings, albums, books and sketches that are included in the collection of the Naval Museum are presented to the visitors. This exhibition is presented to the visitors with the purpose of highlighting Hüsnü Tengüz and his precious works of art.
