Imperial Caique, 7 Pairs of Oars

Belonging to the 19th century, she was used in transportation of sultanate members and the royal family (harem). She is built with carvel planking and has clipper bow. The broadside is adorned with floral patterns inlaid with gold leaves, Rumi motifs and hand-drawn flowers in medallions in free style painting.

When the collection was received, the bow and stern were two separate parts. They were put together after the restoration in 2008. The ornaments on the middle part were not completed in order to demonstrate the restoration area.
